Faction Studio 0 GU Ski - 2023

The Studio 0 GU is Eileen Gu’s limited-edition pro model ski. With artwork designed in collaboration with the freeskiing sensation herself, the brand-new, halfpipe- specific skis are built to withstand the G forces and off-centred landings that are unique to that discipline. These skis are intended for someone looking for a narrower park ski for precision edging and impact absorption.

The Studio Series is 100% dedicated to park & pipe. Most park skis today are designed to jump and jib and to "work great outside the park, too." The upside of this is versatility. The downside is a sacrifice in pure park performance. The Studio Series is engineered exclusively for park & pipe riding — it is a celebration of these core elements of the freeskiing experience.

With artwork by Chinese artist Liu Zhicheng in collaboration with Eileen Gu, every aspect of the artwork is a manifestation of fusion.Proposed and inspired by Eileen herself, the phoenix exists in both Chinese and western cultures, but its appearance and meaning differ from one culture to another. In some cultures, it is a bird of fire that can be reborn; in China, it is the five-coloured king and queen of birds who brings good omens.
