Ortovox The Orange II Shovel

Light and rigid. Ortovox use polycarbonate for the shovel scoop. The material is very rigid and absolutely unbreakable. They have provided the Orange II with an oval telescopic shaft. This is ultra-rigid and unbreakable, and with the T-handle and sanded grip allows very economical shoveling. All weight freaks are pleased with the low 600 grams.

Weight:

600 g

Shovel handle folded:

46 cm

Total length:

85 cm

Scoop:

29 x 21 x 6 cm

Polycarbonate

Polycarbonate is an extremely lightweight and very sturdy plastic, which Ortovox use for light shovels. The shovel scoops are virtually indestructible, but flex strongly and are therefore not as stiff as aluminum scoops

T-handle

The T-handle is ergonomically adapted to the human hand. The advantage of this grip is an economical shoveling process – so it is done faster and requires less effort.

Conical shank

The shovel shaft has an oval cross section. The failure characteristics are thus much higher than round cross sections. The same is true for the stiffness. The force transmission and thus the shoveling performance are much higher.

Sanded grip

The shovel fits better in the hand by the sanded grip. Power is transferred to the shovel scoop directly, as the hand doesn\'t slip from the shaft.

Telescopic shank

Telescopic shank: Due to the telescopic shank you get a better leverage while shoveling. At the same time the retracted shaft can be carried in any small Rucksack.
