Unlike most wrist guards, which were developed for skating or skateboards, these Dainese Hector wristguards have been designed specifically for snowboarding so their design is radically different.

The Dainese Hector has no plate on the heel of your hand - which is possibly more effective at preventing you from shredding your wrist on tarmac or concrete than it is at preventing a broken wrist. Instead, the protection is on the back of the hand/wrist/arm. Here you will find a semi-rigid polypropylene plate which prevents your wrist bending backwards - this is exactly what happens when you fall snowboarding! The plate has a sliding mechanism, allowing a metal support (looks like a large buckle in the photo) to slide into the correct position to support your wrist at exactly the point where it bends. Everything is held comfortably into place by three large velcro straps. These wrist guards are particularly comfortable because of the soft polyethylene padding inside. Full CE homologation.
